Probably the most used knitting pattern is formed by alternating rows of knit and purl stitches. This creates plain and smooth V-patterned fabric that curls at the edges.
Can be used for almost everything knitted from socks and hats to sweaters. Is especially good for circular knitting as in this case we’ll just have to knit every row.
FLAT KNITTING
Cast On: any number of stitches.
Row 1 (RS): knit.
Row 2 (WS): purl.
Repeat these two rows.
KNITTING IN THE ROUND
Cast On: any number of stitches.
Row 1: knit.
Row 2: knit.
Repeat these two rows.
