ALMOND SHAWL
Inspired by Italian almond lace cookies, this design is similarly addictive and crisp. Full of texture and open lace patterns, Almond Shawl is embellished with bobbles, and optional tassels can be added for an extra touch of boho.
The shawl is completed in a V-shape and uses up just two skeins of beautiful handdyed Eureka Fingering from Sincere Sheep. Alternating stripe patterns keep you entertained and are very satisfying to crochet. Depending on the gauge and available yardage, you can increase/decrease the length of a shawl by repeating/skipping some of the stripes to use up all the yarn from a skein without any leftovers.
The pattern contains both written row-by-row instructions (with detailed stitch counts) and charts.
Almond Shawl is a part of The Sun and Fog collection. In the days when we all could use a uniting crafting project, local yarn dyers and designers came up with a special collection of knit and crochet designs celebrating community and togetherness from the foggy shores to the sunny valleys of California. YARN
Sincere Sheep Eureka Fingering (100% rambouillet, 3.5oz / 100g, 500yds / 457m); color A: Eugenia (light coral), 1 skein; color B: Bare (off-white), 1 skein
OR 2 colors of fingering weight yarn, each: approximately 500yds / 457m
The pattern is easy to modify for another yardage as well.
HOOK
US 7 / 4.5mm or the size needed to obtain gauge of 12 sts and 12 rows in 4” / 10cm in double crochet, blocked
For any other yarn: use hook at least two sizes up from stated on the label to keep fabric airy and light
